A New Conversation About America’s Map

About the Event

Join Dr. Mohsen Milani and Dr. Thomas P.M. Barnett for a conversation about our standing among the international community and the geopolitical challenges we face.

During the conversation Dr. Milani and Dr. Barnett will apply their decades of experience in foreign policy and engage with audience members on how America can regain its footing as a global leader amidst the three inevitabilities of globalization: climate crisis, shifting demographics, and the rise of global middle-class consumption. Our current era demands new approaches, courageous ideas and bold leadership. We invite you to join this productive conversation about our national strategies to inspire action for our future.

Following the conversation, Dr. Barnett will host a book signing session.

ABOUT THE SPEAKERS

DR. THOMAS P.M. BARNETT

Dr. Thomas P.M. Barnett

Dr. Thomas P.M. Barnett is a leading geopolitical strategist and bestselling author of “The Pentagon’s New Map,” who has presented his worldview and strategic-planning concepts to universities, military commands and academies, government agencies and corporations across the financial, energy, agriculture, and defense industries.

In his latest book release, “America’s New Map: Restoring Our Global Leadership in an Era of Climate Change and Demographic Collapse,” Dr. Barnett starts a new strategic dialogue on how America can re-emerge as a global leader as we navigate the three major shifts of globalization: climate change, demographics, and middle-class consumption.

He holds a PhD in political science from Harvard University. Over his career, he has authored more than 500 publications, delivered more than 1,000 speeches across all 50 U.S. states and over 50 countries, including his TED Talk, “Let’s Rethink America’s Military Strategy.”

Dr. Milani is the Executive Director of the Center for Strategic & Diplomatic Studies. He was a research fellow at Harvard, Oxford, and the Foscari University (Italy).
