About USF's Online Pathway to Computing Certificate
The Pathway to Computing features asynchronous online courses that are ideal for busy professionals who cannot attend on campus or attend set class times. The graduate certificate provides a pathway to a computing career after successful completion of 15 course credit hours.
USF is a member of the MSCS Pathways to Computing Consortium, a national effort with the mission of designing and implementing programs that enable individuals from diverse academic backgrounds to obtain a Master of Science in computing disciplines and to pursue a career in tech. Consortium members join efforts in outreach and fund raising, providing scholarship opportunities to eligible students.
Program at a Glance
Successful completers receive priority admission to the Master’s Degree in Computer Science with no GRE required. Pathways to Computing graduates can also choose to enter the AI graduate certificate program or transition to an in-demand tech role. Participants must hold a bachelor’s degree in any discipline other than computing from a regionally accredited institution.
- No coding experience or prerequisite computer science coursework required.
- Must maintain a minimum GPA of 3.00 in all courses.
Applications are reviewed in their entirety, with the focus on the applicant's potential for success in a computing career.
Application due date for Fall 2024 admission: August 1, 2024. Spaces may fill. Early submission is encouraged.
The graduate certificate provides a pathway to a computing career after successful completion of 15 course credit hours. Successful completion also provides priority admissions to USF's Master's Degree in Computer Science.
